FACC to Host Meeting on Electric Rates

Sykesville, MD, March 8, 2007 - The Freedom Area Citizens' Council (FACC) will host Vincent Tyler of the Public Service Commission and Ingrid Woods of BGE at its next regular meeting. The speakers will answer questions and brief attendees on electric rate increases. The meeting will be on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at 7:30 PM at Sykesville Middle School's cafeteria, 7301 Springfield Avenue, Sykesville. The public is invited to attend.

Mr. Tyler is an Administrative Officer with the Maryland Public Service Commission's Office of External Affairs. The PSC does community outreach to ensure that the public is informed about complicated topics like BGE electric rates. Mr. Tyler states, "This allows communities to speak with the PSC face to face in a less formal setting." His main topic of discussion will be BGE rate stabilization, "past, present, and future."

FACC is a non-profit, community organization of Carroll County, Maryland, whose goals are to define, evaluate and advocate issues that affect the Freedom Area, to work with government and other citizens' organizations to effect positive improvements in the Freedom Area, and to keep the public informed through planned programs and publications about activities in the Freedom area which affect its citizens.
